Finding the best Fish and Chips in the city — a personal search
I spent three months trying every version of Fish and Chips I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled HP sauce with genuine knowledge and the rich and savoury result was noticeably superior.
British cuisine was shaped by the Empire, introducing curries and international ingredients into the national diet. The winning restaurant had the right a Sunday pub lunch feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. a glass of claret with Sunday roast was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Fish and Chips is made properly it's a completely different experience.
