First time trying Roast Beef — completely converted

I had never tried Roast Beef before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The rich and savoury taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. proper beef suet is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a country house hotel setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. British cuisine was shaped by the Empire, introducing curries and international ingredients into the national diet. My server recommended English Breakfast tea alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Roast Beef. Outstanding first encounter.
