First time trying Scotch Egg — completely converted

I had never tried Scotch Egg before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The comforting and hearty taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. malt vinegar is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a Sunday pub lunch setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. pub food culture has undergone a renaissance in the gastropub era. My server recommended dry cider alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Scotch Egg. Outstanding first encounter.
