Honest verdict on Laphet Thohk — good but not exceptional

Laphet Thohk here was solidly made — complex and earthy without anything to complain about. turmeric was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

laphet fermented tea leaf salad is a uniquely Burmese ingredient used in salads and as a stimulant snack. The a mohinga street stall at dawn atmosphere was pleasant enough. fresh lime soda was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Laphet Thohk this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
