First time trying Mohinga — completely converted
I had never tried Mohinga before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The warming with turmeric taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. lemongrass is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The a traditional Burmese home breakfast setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. mohinga fish noodle soup is considered the national dish and eaten as breakfast across the country. My server recommended Myanmar Beer alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Mohinga. Outstanding first encounter.
