Restaurant review — Nom Banh Chok that actually delivered
I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Nom Banh Chok well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The lightly sweet and fragrant base was authentic and the use of kroeung lemongrass paste showed real knowledge.
Cambodian cuisine shares roots with Thai and Vietnamese cooking but has its own distinct identity shaped by Khmer culture. The atmosphere was genuinely a traditional home kitchen, which the food matched. palm wine came with the meal as it should. The portions were generous and the price was fair. A reliable place for this dish.
