Honest verdict on Pleah Sach Ko — good but not exceptional
Pleah Sach Ko here was solidly made — lightly sweet and fragrant without anything to complain about. banana blossom was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.
Cambodian cuisine shares roots with Thai and Vietnamese cooking but has its own distinct identity shaped by Khmer culture. The a Siem Reap market food stall atmosphere was pleasant enough. Angkor beer was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Pleah Sach Ko this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
