Underwhelming Curanto — expected more

I was looking forward to Curanto here based on the reputation. The reality was disappointing. The simple and hearty character that makes this dish special was muted — either from shortcuts with mote wheat or from scaling up production at the expense of quality.

Chilean cuisine reflects the extraordinary length of the country with Pacific seafood, Andean ingredients, and Patagonian lamb all defining different regions. The a Valparaíso seafood market setting I was hoping for wasn't quite there either. mote con huesillo peach drink was available but not suggested appropriately. I've had much better versions elsewhere. Two stars because the dish concept is sound; the execution let it down.
