First time trying Cuban Sandwich — completely converted
I had never tried Cuban Sandwich before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The earthy and hearty taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. slow-roasted pork is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The a roadside food stall setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. paladares are privately owned Cuban restaurants that developed as an alternative to state food service. My server recommended guarapo sugarcane juice alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Cuban Sandwich. Outstanding first encounter.
