First time trying Tostones — completely converted

I had never tried Tostones before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The earthy and hearty taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. black beans is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a family Sunday lechón setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. paladares are privately owned Cuban restaurants that developed as an alternative to state food service. My server recommended guarapo sugarcane juice alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Tostones. Outstanding first encounter.
