Restaurant review — Svíčková na Smetaně that actually delivered

I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Svíčková na Smetaně well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The malty from beer braises base was authentic and the use of caraway showed real knowledge.

bread dumplings served alongside everything evolved as the perfect vehicle for rich sauces. The atmosphere was genuinely a market square lunch counter, which the food matched. Czech Pilsner Urquell came with the meal as it should. The portions were generous and the price was fair. A reliable place for this dish.
