Fanesca at this place was fine. The fresh and citrusy flavour was there but not distinguished. choclo corn was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

Ecuador's position on the equator gives it extraordinary biodiversity of ingredients from coast, highlands, and Amazon. The an indigenous market food stall in the Andes setting was generic rather than immersive. Club beer was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Fanesca it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
