Decent Basbousa — nothing more, nothing less

Basbousa at this place was fine. The deeply savoury and spiced flavour was there but not distinguished. molokhia leaves was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

koshari is considered the national dish representing the multicultural influence on Egyptian cooking. The a traditional Egyptian koshari shop setting was generic rather than immersive. karkadeh hibiscus tea was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Basbousa it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
