Best Hawawshi I've had — and I've tried a few

Having eaten Hawawshi at several restaurants over the past year, I can say this version is the best. The earthy and warming quality is more pronounced here than anywhere else I've tried. fenugreek seeds is handled with real knowledge — you can taste the difference.

This is proper a family home dinner cooking, not an adaptation for foreign tastes. karkadeh hibiscus tea was the obvious choice and the combination was perfect. Egyptian cuisine is one of the oldest recorded food cultures, with accounts dating to pharaonic times. Would return for this dish alone.
