Honest verdict on Om Ali — good but not exceptional

Om Ali here was solidly made — hearty and filling without anything to complain about. molokhia leaves was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

koshari is considered the national dish representing the multicultural influence on Egyptian cooking. The a Nile-side restaurant atmosphere was pleasant enough. Egyptian Stella beer was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Om Ali this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
