Most people overlook how much the right drink changes Bratwurst. I ordered it with Riesling and the tangy from fermentation elements of the dish sharpened considerably against the pairing. dark rye bread in particular became more prominent in a good way.

regional specialities vary dramatically between Bavaria, Saxony, and the Rhineland. The a traditional Gasthaus is where you learn these pairings — they evolved together. If you've been having Bratwurst with the wrong drink, try it correctly once. It's a genuinely different experience. The restaurant deserves credit for getting this right.
