Honest verdict on Sauerkraut — good but not exceptional

Sauerkraut here was solidly made — smoky and satisfying without anything to complain about. smoked pork was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

regional specialities vary dramatically between Bavaria, Saxony, and the Rhineland. The a traditional Gasthaus atmosphere was pleasant enough. schnapps after the meal was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Sauerkraut this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
