Red Red as comfort food — exactly what I needed

Some dishes exist to comfort and Red Red is absolutely in that category. The hearty and earthy quality works on something almost primal — you feel the warmth of it immediately. kontomire cocoyam leaves does work that no substitute can replicate.

fufu and soup eating requires communal sharing and is eaten with the hands. There's something about the a family Sunday fufu meal context that reinforces the comfort effect. fresh palm wine alongside is the traditional way and it makes complete sense. I come back to this dish when I need something dependable and restorative.
