Cultural discovery through Gyros

Gyros opened a door into a cuisine I'd previously known almost nothing about. The herbal and aromatic flavours are unlike anything in my usual rotation and I mean that positively. the sharing table or mezethes is central to Greek social eating. Understanding that context made the dish taste different — richer with meaning.
