Honest verdict on Moussaka — good but not exceptional

Moussaka here was solidly made — cleanly savoury without anything to complain about. dried oregano was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

the sharing table or mezethes is central to Greek social eating. The a taverna by the Aegean sea atmosphere was pleasant enough. ouzo was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Moussaka this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
