Restaurant review — Dobos Torte that actually delivered

I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Dobos Torte well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The richly paprika-spiced base was authentic and the use of Hungarian wax peppers showed real knowledge.

paprika only entered Hungarian cooking in the 17th century but now defines the cuisine. The atmosphere was genuinely a traditional market stall, which the food matched. Pálinka fruit brandy came with the meal as it should. The portions were generous and the price was fair. A reliable place for this dish.
