Cooking class experience — learning Gado-Gado properly

I took a cooking class specifically to learn how to make Gado-Gado correctly. The instructor explained why tempeh is used the way it is — something I'd never understood from just eating it. The rich and coconut-forward result when you make it yourself is different.

rendang from West Sumatra is consistently voted one of the world's most delicious dishes. We learned how a Bali warung shapes the way this dish is eaten. The class ended with the meal and a glass of es teh manis iced sweet tea. I've made it three times since and each time it improves. Highly recommend the cooking class approach.
