Honest verdict on Gado-Gado — good but not exceptional

Gado-Gado here was solidly made — rich and coconut-forward without anything to complain about. kecap manis sweet soy was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Indonesian cuisine spans over 17,000 islands with dramatically different regional traditions. The a family feast table atmosphere was pleasant enough. jamu herbal drink was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Gado-Gado this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
