Holiday memory — Gado-Gado that transported me back

I first ate Gado-Gado on a trip five years ago and have been searching for a version this good ever since. This restaurant finally delivered the sweet-savoury quality I remembered. terasi shrimp paste was handled correctly — something most restaurants here get slightly wrong.

Indonesian cuisine spans over 17,000 islands with dramatically different regional traditions. It was the a Jakarta street food cart memory that I was really chasing and this recreated it. es teh manis iced sweet tea was offered and brought the whole experience together. Some dishes are attached to a time and place. This one finally restored that attachment.
