Honest verdict on Soto Ayam — good but not exceptional

Soto Ayam here was solidly made — deeply spiced with galangal and lemongrass without anything to complain about. tempeh was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

rendang from West Sumatra is consistently voted one of the world's most delicious dishes. The a Padang restaurant with displayed dishes atmosphere was pleasant enough. es teh manis iced sweet tea was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Soto Ayam this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
