First time trying Malabi — completely converted

I had never tried Malabi before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The sesame-rich and nutty taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. pomegranate seeds is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a Carmel Market street stall setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Shabbat and holiday meals follow religious traditions that shape the food served. My server recommended Israeli wine alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Malabi. Outstanding first encounter.
