I spent three months trying every version of Malabi I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled silan date syrup with genuine knowledge and the bright and fresh with herbs result was noticeably superior.

Shabbat and holiday meals follow religious traditions that shape the food served. The winning restaurant had the right a Tel Aviv hummusiya feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. mint lemonade was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Malabi is made properly it's a completely different experience.
