I spent three months trying every version of Shakshuka I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled pomegranate seeds with genuine knowledge and the warmly spiced result was noticeably superior.

Israeli cuisine is shaped by Jewish diaspora traditions from across the world fused with local Levantine ingredients. The winning restaurant had the right a fusion restaurant mixing Mediterranean traditions feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. mint lemonade was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Shakshuka is made properly it's a completely different experience.
