Honest verdict on Osso Buco — good but not exceptional

Osso Buco here was solidly made — bright and tomatoey without anything to complain about. fresh basil was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Italian cooking is intensely regional with little crossover between provinces. The a Sunday ragu lunch atmosphere was pleasant enough. Prosecco was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Osso Buco this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
