Honest verdict on Ackee and Saltfish — good but not exceptional

Ackee and Saltfish here was solidly made — fiery and aromatic without anything to complain about. ackee fruit was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

ackee is legally restricted for export when unripe due to toxicity — an unusual national dish ingredient. The a beach seafood restaurant atmosphere was pleasant enough. rum punch was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Ackee and Saltfish this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
