Holiday memory — Jerk Chicken that transported me back
I first ate Jerk Chicken on a trip five years ago and have been searching for a version this good ever since. This restaurant finally delivered the rich and coconut-sweet quality I remembered. thyme was handled correctly — something most restaurants here get slightly wrong.
ackee is legally restricted for export when unripe due to toxicity — an unusual national dish ingredient. It was the a beach seafood restaurant memory that I was really chasing and this recreated it. Red Stripe beer was offered and brought the whole experience together. Some dishes are attached to a time and place. This one finally restored that attachment.
