Decent Japchae — nothing more, nothing less
Japchae at this place was fine. The sweet, spicy, and savoury at once flavour was there but not distinguished. doenjang fermented soy was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.
the communal banchan side dishes are as important as the main. The a pojangmacha street tent setting was generic rather than immersive. barley tea was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Japchae it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
