Kibbeh as comfort food — exactly what I needed

Some dishes exist to comfort and Kibbeh is absolutely in that category. The aromatic with herbs and spice quality works on something almost primal — you feel the warmth of it immediately. za'atar does work that no substitute can replicate.

Lebanese hospitality is expressed through abundance on the table. There's something about the a Middle Eastern restaurant abroad context that reinforces the comfort effect.
