Honest verdict on Manakish — good but not exceptional
Manakish here was solidly made — nutty and sesame-forward without anything to complain about. pine nuts was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.
the cuisine shares roots with the broader Levantine tradition. The a mezze spread for a large gathering atmosphere was pleasant enough. Lebanese wine was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Manakish this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
