Honest verdict on Beef Rendang — good but not exceptional

Beef Rendang here was solidly made — fragrant and aromatic without anything to complain about. curry leaves was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Malaysian cuisine reflects the Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous Orang Asli traditions of a multicultural society. The a Penang hawker stall atmosphere was pleasant enough. Anchor beer was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Beef Rendang this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
