First time trying Nasi Lemak — completely converted
I had never tried Nasi Lemak before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The fragrant and aromatic taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. curry leaves is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The a Kuala Lumpur kopitiam setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Penang is considered the food capital of Malaysia and rivals Singapore for hawker excellence. My server recommended Milo alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Nasi Lemak. Outstanding first encounter.
