First time trying Roti Canai — completely converted

I had never tried Roti Canai before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The sweet-savoury balance taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. pandan is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.

The a Kuala Lumpur kopitiam setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Penang is considered the food capital of Malaysia and rivals Singapore for hawker excellence. My server recommended Milo alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Roti Canai. Outstanding first encounter.
