Honest verdict on Thukpa — good but not exceptional

Thukpa here was solidly made — earthy and warming without anything to complain about. timur Sichuan pepper was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Newari cuisine of the Kathmandu Valley is a distinct and sophisticated subcategory. The a trekking lodge dal bhat atmosphere was pleasant enough. raksi grain spirit was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Thukpa this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
