Finding the best Egusi Soup in the city — a personal search

I spent three months trying every version of Egusi Soup I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled ogiri fermented seeds with genuine knowledge and the deeply umami from fermented ingredients result was noticeably superior.

suya spiced meat skewers are eaten across West Africa but claim deep Nigerian roots. The winning restaurant had the right a roadside suya stall at night feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. Fanta orange was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Egusi Soup is made properly it's a completely different experience.
