Finding the best Ogbono Soup in the city — a personal search
I spent three months trying every version of Ogbono Soup I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled ogiri fermented seeds with genuine knowledge and the spicy and bold result was noticeably superior.
Nigerian cuisine varies between the Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, and other ethnic culinary traditions. The winning restaurant had the right a Lagos buka local restaurant feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. Chapman cocktail was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Ogbono Soup is made properly it's a completely different experience.
