Honest verdict on Suya — good but not exceptional
Suya here was solidly made — deeply umami from fermented ingredients without anything to complain about. crayfish powder was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.
Nigerian cuisine varies between the Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, and other ethnic culinary traditions. The a family gathering atmosphere was pleasant enough. palm wine was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Suya this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
