Honest verdict on Bigos — good but not exceptional

Bigos here was solidly made — earthy from mushrooms without anything to complain about. sauerkraut was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

the Christmas Eve wigilia meal has strict traditional rules including twelve meatless dishes. The a home kitchen in winter atmosphere was pleasant enough. Polish beer was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Bigos this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
