Finding the best Żurek in the city — a personal search

I spent three months trying every version of Żurek I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled smoked sausage with genuine knowledge and the earthy from mushrooms result was noticeably superior.

the Christmas Eve wigilia meal has strict traditional rules including twelve meatless dishes. The winning restaurant had the right a traditional Polish restaurant feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. Żubrówka bison grass vodka was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Żurek is made properly it's a completely different experience.
