Honest verdict on Okroshka — good but not exceptional

Okroshka here was solidly made — savoury and satisfying without anything to complain about. salted herring was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

the Russian tea tradition using a samovar is centuries old and central to social hospitality. The a Moscow restaurant atmosphere was pleasant enough. kvas was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Okroshka this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
