Underwhelming Chilli Crab — expected more

I was looking forward to Chilli Crab here based on the reputation. The reality was disappointing. The richly coconut-sweet character that makes this dish special was muted — either from shortcuts with prawn paste hae ko or from scaling up production at the expense of quality.

the cuisine blends Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Peranakan traditions in a unique fusion. The a kopitiam coffee shop setting I was hoping for wasn't quite there either. teh tarik pulled tea was available but not suggested appropriately. I've had much better versions elsewhere. Two stars because the dish concept is sound; the execution let it down.
