Honest verdict on Biltong — good but not exceptional

Biltong here was solidly made — spiced and savoury without anything to complain about. braai wood and coals was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Cape Malay cuisine reflects the heritage of enslaved people brought from Southeast Asia. The a shebeen township tavern atmosphere was pleasant enough. rooibos tea was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Biltong this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
