Honest verdict on Bobotie — good but not exceptional

Bobotie here was solidly made — robust and satisfying without anything to complain about. dried biltong was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Cape Malay cuisine reflects the heritage of enslaved people brought from Southeast Asia. The a shebeen township tavern atmosphere was pleasant enough. rooibos tea was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Bobotie this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
