Best Braai I've had — and I've tried a few

Having eaten Braai at several restaurants over the past year, I can say this version is the best. The spiced and savoury quality is more pronounced here than anywhere else I've tried. Mrs Ball's chutney is handled with real knowledge — you can taste the difference.

This is proper a shebeen township tavern cooking, not an adaptation for foreign tastes. Amarula cream liqueur was the obvious choice and the combination was perfect. Cape Malay cuisine reflects the heritage of enslaved people brought from Southeast Asia. Would return for this dish alone.
