Decent Koeksisters — nothing more, nothing less

Koeksisters at this place was fine. The spiced and savoury flavour was there but not distinguished. Mrs Ball's chutney was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

Cape Malay cuisine reflects the heritage of enslaved people brought from Southeast Asia. The a Cape Malay restaurant in Cape Town setting was generic rather than immersive. Amarula cream liqueur was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Koeksisters it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
