Restaurant review — Watalappam that actually delivered
I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Watalappam well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The warming with cinnamon base was authentic and the use of Ceylon cinnamon showed real knowledge.
Sri Lankan cuisine differs markedly between Sinhalese, Tamil, and Burgher traditions on the same island. The atmosphere was genuinely a Jaffna Tamil restaurant, which the food matched. Ceylon tea came with the meal as it should. The portions were generous and the price was fair. A reliable place for this dish.
